I Speak Cat

Hello lovely people,

I hope everyones week has been well! I know mine has! It has also been very rainy here and I tend to enjoy rain, so that was nice!

Okay lets get to the good stuff!:)

A few fun things have happened this week!

1. Crash test:

Crash test is just like shattered dreams at Vandegrift! For those of you that might be reading this and aren't from Austin, Vandegrift is my high school back home. Except here it isn't a performance that is staged and the students aren't involved, we just watch! So this company comes to our school and sets up a barrier in the middle of the road! Then they talked for like an hour, I understood pretty much nothing. Finally after about an hour the guy leading "crash test" gets in a car and drives it straight into a motorcycle with a dummy on it! After that he takes the car that he ran into the motorcycle, chains up the wheels, and drives another car into that car! The whole thing was crazy because you were so close to a head on accident, twice! The whole point was to show the damage and speed of an accident and how you have to be carful with cars and when driving cars!

After the demonstration we had to go into class rooms and talk about the whole thing. People that had been in bad accidents, that changed their lives, also came and talked too. Sadly I didn't understand much! Over all it was pretty cool! If any of you are interested in watching the video of the crash, it is on my Facebook page!

2. Going to the movies:

I went to the movies with 3 of my friends wednesday after crash test, since wednesday we end at 11:45. We went to my friend Caroline's house first for lunch and then we went to the theater! Caroline's house was so fun because she has 3 little siblings that are pretty much babies. I got to play with them for a bit and they were so cute, because they were like yelling in french and running around! I'm pretty much in love with them! Plus their names were adorable, Archer, Elise and Valentine!

The movie theater we went to was in Mulhouse! It is the biggest and nicest one around! It really was a nice theater! It had 14 screens and the building was shaped in a round crescent type shape, so the lay out was really cool! The way concessions were was also really different because it was like a store where you shopped around and got your stuff then went to a check out line where you bought your ticket and the food! Another strange thing was how you got to pick your seats. I'm used to picking seats if I am going to a movie where you order dinner in the theater. So it was weird to reserve seats for a normal movie, however these seats where very comfy!:) Hahaha!

The movie was in french, obviously, but there were no english subtitles or anything! The movie we went to see was called Annabell, it was a horror movie (thank god), so the plot line was fairly simple and easy to follow! LOL! Here's the kicker though!

I FELL ASLEEP FOR LIKE HALF THE MOVIE! LOL!:)

People that know me and how I am about movies, know that I have never in my life fallen asleep during a movie. Until now! I was just really tired and I didn't understand the words, so I took a little nap. Hahahaha! But the movie was actually pretty good and I had a lot of fun!

3. I speak cat:

Yesterday during my break at school a cat came running out of the bushes while I was sitting outside with some friends! So logically the next thing to do was chase the cat in an attempt to catch it! It ran into another bush, so I got down on the ground and started meowing at it! CRAZIEST THING....... The cat came out of the bush and walked over to me when I meowed! I then started to pet it, but right when I went to pick it up it started to run across the court yard of my school! Of course that meant that me and My friend Hoda needed to chase it again! Once the cat reached it's bush I did the same thing and started meowing at it. This time though every time I meowed, the cat meowed back! Finally it came out the bush to me, after we had pretty much had a whole conversation. This time though it let me pick it up!!! I was so happy! It was really funny because I made a joke to my friends that I can speak english, some spanish and cat, but not french! Hahaha!

4. I tried to drink a spoon at dinner:

Last night after dinner Renata had made these strawberries with syrup for dessert! However they were served in a cup and had this thing sticking out that looked like a straw, so I thought it was a drink! IT WASNT! But I wasn't aware that the straw looking thing was a spoon! So I tried to suck on the spoon like you would a straw and to my surprise something was blocking the hole that is normally in a straw! I kept thinking to my self, " what is that on this straw, that is so weird, why is this so hard!" Then I looked up and Wojtek had watched the whole thing go down and he was laughing so hard he almost spit his out! It was awesomely mortifying! We all died laughing about it for like a solid 5 minutes! LOL! Leave it to me to be an idiot at the dinner table! :)

5. School on Friday is a joke:

Today is Friday, and my english teacher is in London, so I don't have english class today! The way it works in french schools, is that if a teacher doesn't show up or is sick or something, you just don't have class that day! However, Friday is already a pretty light day in terms of class, so without english I only have 3 hours of class total! This left me with a 4 hour break to do nothing at school, so I decided to come home for lunch and to just chill here rather than at school! :) When I got home, Renata and I went to the Grocery store to get the ingredients I need for a dessert I'm making.  It's for my AFS weekend in Nancy! The dessert is a blueberry banana cream pie and  I'm a little nervous because they don't have blueberry topping in France. So I just had to buy frozen blueberries and I'm hoping after they thaw out that they will work as the topping! Well see soon!
