What's up peeps,
It is officially the beginning of my 4th month in France! I know its absolutely insane. My friend cookie also brought it to my attention that we have been on exchange for 100 days! If I had emojis I would be making the bulging eye face! She made a youtube video about and I was watching it and thinking to myself, "OMG 100 days, that seems like forever, but it went by in the blink of an eye."
besides it being the begging of my 4th month and the passing of the 100th day, it is also the beginning of all the christmas traditions here! There are so many!
So I think it was 2 weeks ago, I went to one of the christmas markets in colmar. It was sooo sooo cute! I bought some christmas presents, drank some vin chaude and got to see my bff in alsace (aka the other exchange student) Marie, before she left to go back to belgium! She was only here for a trimester! I am very sad she is gone! Now I am the lone Afser in Alsace! I am trying to make plans to go to strasbourg for the day, next saturday, with some of my AFS friends from the neighboring region. The christmas market there is suppose to be amazing and I really need to do some more christmas shopping for my family here!
I am also very sad to report that I had the wrong information about when my christmas vacation started. I dont know why I thought it started after next week, but I did! However my friend at school informed me that we actually have 2 more weeks of school before vacation starts! (crying inside)
So my vacation officially starts the 20th of december!:)
I think this weekend I am going to go to this museum in mulhouse. It is a very nice car museum and it is supposedly the biggest one in europe! I met someone who was from America a couple months ago who said they had been and really enjoyed it, so I hope we go!
I also made a huge faux pas the other day when I was talking to my friends, it was insanely embarrassing O MY GOSH!
So i meant to say, "after school I am walking home and then getting in my bed"
But instead I said, "after school i am walking home and having sex in my bed"
because the verb for "lay down" or "get in bed" is a reflexive so you have to say "me" before the verb and I didn't know that at the time. so when I said it they all smiled at me and looked at me like they felt bad for me and like they knew something I didn't. Then my friend gwen goes, "ummm je me couche dan mon lit" and I was like okay thanks for telling me how to say it. But then they all busted out laughing and my friend janelle tells me that I said, I was having sex, not getting in my bed! I was soo embarrassed, but it was really funny at the same time! LOL!:)
So that was awesome!
I am still understanding soo much and I have been able to respond in french much more frequently, so that's a good sign that it wasn't just one day that I was doing good!:) LOL!
I hope you all have been having an amazing week and I hope you all have an even better weekend!
salut
XOXOX
Grace
